Добро пожаловать!

... or in a more commonly used at Southwestern language - WELCOME! My name is Ksenia Malikova and I am 100% Russian (I lived in Russia for 17 out of my 20 years). I am a Junior, however, unlike the rest of our class I major in Economics and Business and I am taking Social Psychology class because of personal interest in this field.

A few years ago I would have been worried about feeling different around you. But by now I have finished two years of college at the American University in Bulgaria – it is an international school in Europe that has students from about 50 different countries. I have experience of communicating, living and working with people from all kinds of social, cultural and religious backgrounds and environments. So, trust me, you need to do/say/wear something unbelievably outstanding for me to find you weird. (Yes, I challenge you!)

I am looking forward to taking a break from cold mathematical economic theories that I have been studying for the past 2 years and discovering a “soulful” world of Social Psychology! Hope we all have a great journey!

P. S. Also, let me answer the most popular questions that I (as a Russian living abroad) get all the time:
1). No, I am not from Moscow. I am from the area called Ural Mountains – the border between Europe and Asia. So, technically being from Asia, I live just a few miles away from Europe.

"Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts."
(Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.)

2). Yes, it is VERY COLD in Russia. In my city during winter it gets down to about -35F…-40F (for all the Texans out there - just making sure you have noticed  that minus sign).

My sister Anastasia during this winter break at the town square, decorated for the holiday season.

From Russian with Love,
Ksenia
